Specific bills will see an increase in prices for mobile phones, council tax, and any more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many consumer websites and watchdogs help people tighten their\nfinancial grip due to these changes made in April. These changes will impact\nthe monthly expenditure of all the households since it includes an increase in\nwater and energy bills w.e.f. April 1. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Chancellor of the Exchequer has announced several changes that\nwill be implemented soon. There has been an announcement regarding the\ngovernment spending plans in the Budget for 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are the details about the changes\/ increases being announced:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li><strong>Energy bills<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>There has been an increase of \u00a397 per year in the bills. This increase has affected almost 11 million households. This price hike has been announced by the Regulatory body Ofgem. A rise of \u00a397 has been due to an increase in the energy price cap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A price cap is set to put a limit on the supplier\u2019s charge for the\ncustomer on standard variable tariffs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There has been seen a significant rise this year by Ofgem. The price cap is from \u00a31,042 per year to \u00a31,138 for the six-month period from 1 April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The cap has been increased due to a surge in global energy commodity prices that have, in turn, raised the cost of sourcing gas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>BBC TV license<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>There has been an announcement which states that there will be an\nincrease in the price of a TV license which will be \u00a3159, from April 1, 2021.\nThe increase has been in line with the ongoing inflation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The previous price of a TV license was \u00a3157.50. The total increase\nhas been \u00a3 1.50. With an increase in the TV license, there will also be an\nincrease in black and white license costs from \u00a353.00 to \u00a353.50.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The increase in the license will be effective from April 1, 2021, for all the people buying or renewing after the mentioned date. People with licenses started before April 1, 2021, such as monthly direct debit or weekly cash payments, will continue to pay the previous amount i.e. \u00a3157.50. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Until their license comes up for renewal, they will be paying the\nprevious amount. Once their license is renewed post-April 1, 2021, they have to\npay the new license amount i.e. \u00a3159.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Mobile phone\ncontracts<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Along with the TV license, there will be an increase in Mobile\nphone contracts. This increase has been made in sync with inflation.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Providers such as Three, O2, and Vodafone have been contacting customers to let them know whether they are affected by the change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Broadband<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>As far as Broadband companies are concerned, they will be charging\nmore for their services from April 1, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some Broadband companies such as Sky, BT, and Virgin raise their\nfees and charge more for their services from April 1, 2021.&nbsp; The bills will be raised, and there will be\nan increase of \u00a33 every month. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many people want to spend lavishly on their broadband service but are unable to do so. To help these people, there are many short-term loans available in the market. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.extramilefinance.uk\/loans\/doorstep-loans.html\">doorstep loans like provident loans<\/a> are available in the market. This rise was followed by the green signal given by the government. It will also apply price hikes of up to 5%. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, there will be an increase from \u00a350 to \u00a3100 in-band D properties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>NHS\nprescriptions increase<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Along with other price increase, there will be an increase in the\nprices for your NHS prescription as well. The call charges will be scrapped\naltogether. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite these charges being scrapped, there will be an increase in\nthe NHS prescription. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The increase will be effective from April 1, 2021. It will be from\n\u00a39.15 to \u00a39.35. This increase will be effective in England and constitutes a\ncharge of a single prescription item.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There will be a subsequent increase in the other prescriptions\naccording to their durations. There will be an increase of 60p to \u00a330.25 for a\nthree-month prescription, whereas there will be an increase of \u00a32.20 to \u00a3108.10\nfor a 12-month prescription. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As compared to 2011, when the cost was \u00a37.40, the prices have\nincreased tremendously. In 2018 and 2019, the price increased by 20p compared\nto an increase of 15p made last year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Water<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>As per the source, there will be a decrease in the price of water\nbills. There will be a fall in the Water and Sewage bills of around \u00a32 per year\nfrom April 1, 2021. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Considering the decrease in the bill, the average household bill\nwill decrease from \u00a3410 per year to \u00a3408.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There will be variable factors involved in the pricing of the\nwater bills. Your area location is one of the significant factors that will\nhelp decide the new bill amount. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some areas may see an increase in their bills, while others may\nsee a decrease in their bill amount.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Car tax<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Along with all the other things, there will be an increase in the\ncar tax in line with the RPI inflation. This increase will be effective from\nApril 1, 2021. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Chancellor of the Exchequer announced in last month\u2019s budget\nand made a freeze on fuel duty. As per these changes, some car drivers may see\nchanges in their car costs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These cost changes will be effective from April 1, 2021. An\nincrease in the Vehicle Excise duty will also be seen from April 1, 2021, which\nis in line with the inflation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There has been a significant increase. This increase also depends on the vehicle\u2019s emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The cars with an engine size of 1549cc or less will see an\nincrease of \u00a35 while the cars having an engine size of above 1549cc will\nincrease \u00a310.
